Are people frontin’ on me for downloading J.Cole’s leaked album? I don’t get it. I’m going to buy the album regardless if it was leaked or not so what difference does it make? Infact this makes me a BIGGER FAN because I wanted to hear it right away instead of waiting for the extra week! HA! Damn why people got to be so damn gay and shit. Getting on my nerves for reals.

I know I know…

That J.Cole’s album is out tomorrow but fuck I couldn’t help it but to download it. I’m still going to buy the album to support the dude but couldn’t help it. After hearing it’s been leaked I was quickly to jump on it as fast as I could.

My thoughts on it? Don’t know…

The Come Up; This album was tight & I feel like a lot of people missed out on his first mixtape because no one really knew about it. Like myself I started listening to him when he released the Warm Up, but going back you can see his progressing of everything. Flow, to pattern, to lyrics, to maturity. Great to see someone start at bottom then fly through with flying colors. This was him knocking on the door asking to be let into the rap game.

The Warm Up; I fell in love with that mixtape from the moment I heard it. To me it’s the classic that everybody will be referring 10 - 20 years from now. Why wasn’t this an album? I have no idea but honestly this was the mixtape where he kicked the door wide open for himself. When people started to notice who he was and what he’s about. 3 words to describe this album; WHAT THE FUCK!

Friday Night Lights; To be honest I wasn’t feeling this mixtape at all for the first 2 weeks. I just think it was some of the songs he was releasing was more mainstream IMO then most. Don’t get me wrong I love some songs that are mainstream that’s hype and what not but some odd reason him trying to make a club banger was like if Raekwon doing a song with Beiber. Death to my ears. I gave it 2 weeks listening to it over and over and over and over and over… and over… You get the point but honestly it grew on me. There were hidden gems in that mixtape. Besides the obvious favorites by everyone. In the morning; Blow Up; Higher, etc. I feel like some tracks didn’t get as much love as like Villematic; Home for the holidays; Premeditated murder; & my favorite… 2face. I listened to that song everyday to start off my mornings. How could you not love these songs that were enticing & lyrically brilliant. That’s how I thought of these less then favorite songs were to me & I didn’t see how everyone else loved the others. Then an interview came out I forget who interviewed him but it’s defintely on youtube. I’ll try to find that next time I post but one quote not only made me change my interpretation of him but my whole view on the music world.

Play the game to change the game

After that I started appreciating more of his mainstream shit because I knew what he was trying to do & also some of the songs kind of grew on me haha. It’s funny how things work that way… When you don’t like something or someone… Then you kind of go deeper into it & you find out the reasoning or the story behind their motives. Then you start to appreciate it more then you would before… Sort of like… how I hated the the 2002 Raiders that played in the Super Bowl against the Buccaneers. Was rooting for the Bucs & was happy to see them win it but I remember just trash talking & just despising the Raiders because of how the public saw them as & everything. After watching NFL Films; America’s game my whole perspective on the Raiders changed completely… Because I found out some stories & some characters on the Raiders team to be… well… very inspiring of how they approached the game… Anyways this is getting off topic but pretty much by the end of it’s duration I love this mixtape after a couple of weeks of listening.

Cole World: The Sideline Story; I’m not going to spew what I think about the album right now since I’ve only had this mixtape for about 6 hrs and listened to it through & through about 3-4 already but for right now… My first impression of this album is that 6 out of 19 songs we’ve already heard. So technically you’re only really getting 13 new songs & 2 of those songs are actually just the Intro & Interlude… Don’t get me wrong it sets up the atmosphere of the album but I guess I just wanted a full album of shit I haven’t heard of. So really you’re only getting 11 new tracks & I don’t know about you but those other 6 tracks that we’ve already listened to over and over for the past 2 years or so. Getting them put into the album was like… to me is a step backwards for J.Cole. Just because it feels like he’s just trying to fill up his album like he ain’t got no songs to put on it really… Well I don’t know… That’s just my first impression. I am going to give it a full listen because who knows maybe there is a reason why those songs were put in place to make the album feel full.

My full review on the album I guess in a couple of weeks or so when I get a good grasp on it I suppose. These are only my mere opinions of these albums so if you do take offence then fuck you. I’m the shit! I know more then you do! :)

J.Cole - Coleworld; The Sideline Story

Funny.

I haven’t really posted for quite some time now… I guess my mind got caught up in whatever it was that I was doing… I have a few things to get off my chest before I can start writing like I used to write back in my lovelymumbles.blogspot.com page.

1- I’m back muthafacka.

2- Everyones jumping on my shit all of the sudden. Not saying I’m bringing that shit to the fullest but c’mon. Snapbacks, cargo beige pants, wearing a tank top to practice even jersey’s… Funny how you all were baggin’ on me for that but now look… you’re all doing the exact same shit.

3- Jacking my style. Period. It’s annoying.

4- People who needs to be with somebody or doing something ALL the time. It’s pathetic… You can’t spend a day alone… So you go and hang out with pretty much anyone and everyone so you don’t have to spend alone time with your pathetic self.

5- People who are secretive. It’s pathetic… You tell me this you tell me that then I find out it’s the other way around… What are you hiding? We all know about her… Man up and stop being a bitch. You’re fucking 25 now.

6- Not getting my respect. I’ve done so much for the kids that I feel like I don’t get enough credit. Don’t front like you did a lot for them. Yeh you’ve driven them and what not but who’s the one who spent days grindin’ with them and teaching them concepts & ideas… ME. Not you my man. You help them with “moves” and such but you don’t teach them for the long run like I do. So don’t go frontin’ and telling everyone you’re doing everything.

7- The NBA. Lockout is happening… fucking shitty… Oh another thing. Love how you’re getting into the NBA just NOW… Given I was always a NFL guy but one reason why I was getting into them BEFORE you was because Ashley loves the NBA so I’ve dipped into it… Now EVERYONE’s jumping back on… Really? REALLY?!

8- NFL is back. Fuck to the yeh.

9- In general I am 10x the man you are. Period.

10- Like I said… I’m back motherfuckers.

Now before you start assuming that what I wrote is about yourself… Well it’s probably true… Even if it’s not towards you and you have that gut feeling like I’m writing about you then it means you’re probably doing this to another person some way. So stop being a bitch and stop faking the funk.

I know it sounds like A LOT of haterade but fuck you wouldn’t believe how much the fake shit that I see around me…

A week away from City vs City…

Here it is… week away from City vs City… Seems everyones training very hard for the event… The way I see it… I am repping Edmonton… but in reality… I’m repping myself… Not for anyone else. I know it sounds selfish but… to me… that’s what it feels. I ain’t repping O’mighty… Beta.4… Edmonton, it’s all about me… Come to think of it… it’s very selfish… but I need this… I need to do this for myself… For all the nay-sayers saying i’m not as good anymore, or i’m washed up… ya’ll under estimate me… even my own crew i’m guessing. Just cause ya’ll don’t see me at practice doesn’t mean i’m not practicing… be weary… I’m coming after ALL OF YOU.
